A conceptual EP that explores the idea of pushing limits and boundaries to their maximum, Forbidden Lands consists of three interconnected pieces of music. The first and title track of the EP was created entirely out of a single sample of white noise, processed and manipulated to create various layers of complex rhythms, sounds and melodic ideas. A graphic score of the piece was then created and from it, the other two pieces derived. Forgotten Waters takes the same concept and arrangement as the title track, except was created entirely out of a single sample of a sine wave. Rabid Skies takes the idea a step further and uses complex musical techniques to derive its structure from that of the title track, and is created out of manipulating and processing a single sample of a square wave. Together, the three tracks showcase the extent to which limitations can be pushed to their extremes.
